|A Shelbyville man whose license is revoked was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Friday after being involved in a traffic accident near Imperial Inn in Murfreesboro.
The incident, which did not result in any serious injuries, occurred just after 2 p.m. near the 600 block of Northwest Broad Street.
Jeffrey J. Flora, 32, has been charged with a DUI third offense and driving on a revoked license, his fourth such offense, in connection with the traffic accident, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department arrest report.
“While assisting Officer Greg Brown with a minor crash, I made contact with one of the drivers,” Officer Christopher Pitts. “Flora had the order of an intoxicant about him, red watery eyes, and slurred speech.”
When asked about his demeanor, Flora allegedly admitted to consuming “four or five beers” earlier that day, according to the report.
Pitts reported Flora could not perform field sobriety tests as demonstrated, at which point he was taken into custody.
Flora was then transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, where he was held on an undisclosed amount of bond. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on the charges Wednesday, Sept. 12, in General Sessions Court.
