One driver remains in critical condition after being involved in a one-vehicle crash about 5:54 p.m. Sunday on South Rutherford Boulevard, a Murfreesboro Police spokesman said.
Driver Jeffery E. Wright was driving north in his 1998 Buick LeSabre, spokesman Kyle Evans reported.
“The vehicle crossed the center grass median and went into the oncoming lane of traffic,” Evans reported. “It crossed over the Southbound lanes of Rutherford Blvd. and went off of the roadway. The vehicle struck a fence, tree and two metal poles before coming to rest.”
Paramedics found the driver unconscious and unresponsive. They initiated cardiopulmonary resuscitation and other advanced life saving procedures. Wright was transported to Middle Tennessee Medical Center and was in critical condition as of 10:30 p.m. Sunday night.
The Fatal Accident Crash Team is investigating the crash.
