An aggravated assault charge was filed against a driver accused of attempting to strike a pedestrian Friday on River Rock Boulevard, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Suspect Scott Peterson, 46, of Baskin Brook Court was charged after a complaint by Shana Dollee Roland, Officer Michael Rickard reported.
Roland told Rickard she was walking in the Verizon parking lot where she works April 2 when Peterson allegedly tried to strike her with his truck.
Warrants were obtained against Peterson and Officer Gabe Besleaga apprehended him. A hearing is set June 23 in General Sessions Court.
In another case, Officer Jacoby O’Gwynn reported a witness saw a young man “stand in the middle of the road on State Street and fire approximately seven rounds toward Bilbro Avenue” Friday evening.
Several young children playing in the area identified the shooter, O’Gwynn reported. No one was injured.
In another assault, Officer Chris Norville reported Orlando Chesterfield, 29, of North Academy Street, suffered a stab wound on his right shoulder. He was treated at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
