Dr. Barton Wayne Warner, age 69, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 12, 2014. A native of Marion, OH and former resident of Jackson, TN he was the son of the late, John Lockwood Warner Sr. and Arlene Short Warner.

A memorial service will take place Saturday at 3:00PM at First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. Rev. Michael O’Bannon will officiate. Dr. Warner is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lucy Lowry Warner; daughter, Lindsey Robertson and her husband Brian; son, Sam Warner and his wife Janece; and daughter, Margaret Ann McKee and her husband Jon all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Sydney and Michael Robertson, Hailey, Samuel and Jonathan Warner, and Warner and Weston McKee all of Murfreesboro; brother, John Warner and his wife Lelia of Union City, TN; and sister, Beth Sinclair and her husband Dan of Murfreesboro, TN; along with many nieces and nephews. Dr. Warner was a member of First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. He was a 1963 graduate of Jackson High School in Jackson, TN. Dr. Warner received his undergraduate degree with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting from the University of Memphis. He was employed with IBM for three years before attending the University of TN Health Sciences where he received his Doctors Degree with a Doctorate of Medicine in 1975. Dr. Warner served in his own private practice from 1978 to 1988. He then served as a physician in Public Heath with the State of Tennessee for 20 years, retiring as the Medical Director for the State of Tennessee in 2008.

Dr. Warner was currently serving as the Medical Examiner for Rutherford County, a position he has held since 1999. Memorials can be made to Murfreesboro Young Life (PO Box 741 Murfreesboro, TN 37133), Doors of Hope (P.O. Box 332392 Murfreesboro TN 37133) or to the First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro (265 W Thompson LN Murfreesboro, TN 37129).Visitation will be Friday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel and Saturday from 1:00PM to 3:00PM before the memorial service at First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro.
