Doyne E. Graham, age 77, of Murfreesboro, passed away on Feb. 7, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
He was raised in Stamps, Ark. but currently resided in Murfreesboro. He was a member of the Holston United Methodist Conference and attended First United Methodist Church in Murfreesboro. Doyne attended Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas and Emory University’s Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Georgia. He retired in 1998 after pastoring for 42 years in Arkansas and East Tennessee.
Doyne was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan E. Graham and Regina Sutherland Graham. He is survived by his wife of 51 ½ years, Betty Ruth Peek Graham of Murfreesboro; two sons, Ronald Doyne (Virginia) Graham of Murfreesboro and Terrell Alan Graham of Murfreesboro; one daughter, Rebecca Graham (Mike) Rock of Hermitage, TN; two sisters, Veta Graham (Carroll) Blewster of Arkansas and Lou Dean Graham (Bob) Howard of North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Andrea Rock, Nathan Graham, Ethan Rock and Zachary Graham.
Church service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael O’Bannon and Rev. Thad Austin officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Franklin, TN with family and friends serving as active pallbearers. Challenger Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
