Doug Young named City Schools Foundation Chair  | MCS

Doug Young
City Councilman Doug Young has been elected Chairman of the Board, Murfreesboro City Schools Foundation announced Thursday.

Young, owner of City Tile, succeeds Joyce Taylor who has been Chair since the Foundation’s inception in 2006.

Young is and a lifelong resident of Murfreesboro, where he attended Hobgood Elementary, Central High School, and graduated from MTSU. He currently serves as a member of the City Council of Murfreesboro.

Other officers for the Foundation include: Percy Dempsey, vice chair; Dr. Max Moss, treasurer; Collier Andress Smith, secretary; and Joyce Taylor, past chairwoman, who will continue to serve on the Executive Board.

The City Schools Foundation is an independent, nonprofit organization that supports the 12 Murfreesboro City Schools with financial assistance in the areas of science, academic competition and excellence, and financial parity.
