Dorothy McDougal, 83, of Woodbury, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009 at Riverside. Mrs. McDougal was born in Cannon County to the late Fred and Hester Hale. She was a teacher at Short Mountain School in the mid 40’s, was the owner of Holliday Portraits in Murfreesboro for 25 years, and attended Short Mountain Methodist Church.
Mrs. McDougal was preceded in death by, her parents; her husband, John Freeman McDougal; and grandson, John Grant McDougal. She is survived by her sons, Randy (Mary) McDougal of Murfreesboro; Johnny (Jackie) McDougal of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Malone, Amanda (Wayne) Gibbs, Adam (Linda) McDougal; Ben (Jamie) McDougal; Jake McDougal; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie Garrett of Short Mountain; Ruth Barrett of Woodbury; Maxine Nokes of Short Mountain; and brother, Bill Hale of Michigan.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, November 25, 2009 from 11:00am until the funeral service at 1:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Bratton Tucker officiating. Burial to follow at Melton Cemetery.
