Dollar General to hold grand opening celebration

Shoppers in Murfreesboro have a new place to shop for everyday essentials at low prices.

Dollar General recently opened a new store at 2015 Mercury Blvd., and the company is holding a grand opening celebration Saturday, Dec. 8, at 8 a.m.

At the grand opening event, customers will have the opportunity to enjoy special deals and free prizes.

The first 50 shoppers at the store will receive a $10 Dollar General gift card, and the first 200 shoppers will receive a Dollar General tote bag, in addition to other giveaways.

The store employs approximately six to 10 people.

I’m fairly excited about a dollar general opening up, and I think that Mercury Blvd. is a good place for it. Mercury Blvd. is a very popular street, but it doesn’t have anything important on it. It is really more of a connector road, but it would be nice to see that change in the future. I hadn’t heard about prizes for the grand opening, but it is definitely a good business strategy that will be sure to attract some attention. The gift cards are only for ten dollars, but that could go pretty far t Dollar General, plus those first fifty will also receive a tote bag along with the next one hundred and fifty. I think it’s also cool that there is going to be a special sale and some other giveaways, ensuring that customers will be in the store all day. It will be nice for college students to have a new economically sound place to shop for groceries (maybe something other than Ramen). The store creates a few new jobs in a market that is flooded with applicants during the school semesters, and with a crew of six to ten people they should have an excess of applicants year round.
