Dog hurt in baseball bat attack

TMP Reports

Someone injured a pet German shepherd, causing the dog to suffer injuries to his snout and nose Tuesday off Old Nashville Highway, a sheriff’s deputy reported.

Stacy Elder of Scenic Drive reported she left her German shepherd dog in the yard when she left home, Deputy Michael Parsons reported. She returned in the afternoon.

“He was bleeding from his snout and he was acting scared,” Parsons reported. “Elder advised there was a large knot on his nose.”

As Elder looked around the yard, she found a youth baseball bat.

“Elder believes someone came inside the fence and struck the dog,” Parsons reported.

Because of his training, Elder believes her dog took the baseball bat from the person who struck him.
