Discovery Center needs grant help

Despite a record year for attendance, the Discovery Center at Murfree Springs is playing catch up financially.

More than 120,000 children and families enjoyed the museum this year. Helping the center is a donation to match public contributions.

Every gift will be matched one for one. Also, donors of $1,000 or more will have a constellation of stars in their family name on display in the center while donors of $100 or more will have a smaller star with their name. $1,000 donors may have a puzzle piece with their name instead in the center’s newest exhibit, Tiny Town.

Potential donors may want to consider giving a scholarship membership to a needy family- a bargain at $70 a year.

Contributors can call 890-2300 to have a gift charged to a credit card and may also donate online on the Discovery Center website http://www.discoverycenteronline.org/
