Middle Tennessee quarterback Dwight Dasher was voted the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week by members of the media as announced by the league office Monday.
Dasher becomes the 26th player of the week winner under Head Coach Rick Stockstill and the 54th since the league began back in 2001.
Dasher led the Blue Raiders to a key non-conference win over in-state rival Memphis on Saturday by accounting for 320 of the team's 436 yards of total offense. The Folkston, Ga., native threw for 231 yards on 18 of 26 pass completions to register his first back-to-back 200-yard passing games of his career. He also added two touchdown passes before a Floyd Stadium record crowd of 28,105.
The junior was equally impressive in the running game by collecting a game-high 89 yards on the ground on 17 attempts. Dasher enters the Maryland game with 150 rushing yards to rank first among quarterbacks in the SBC.
For his effort on Saturday, Dasher also earned honorable mention Helmet Sticker honors from ESPN.com.
After two games, Dasher leads the Sun Belt Conference and ranks 20th nationally in total offense with 292.5 yards per game and has accounted for 80 percent of the team's total yards during that span (585 of 735 yards).
