During their annual United Way Campaign, local Realtors see the importance of continuing to give back to the community despite a difficult year in real estate.

Realtors in Crye-Leike’s Smyrna office will carry on their tradition of hosting a chili cook- off luncheon to benefit United Way of Rutherford County. This will be their sixth year to organize the event.

“When we get together for an event like this it allows us to contribute and give something back to the community,” said Cindy Speer, Crye-Leike Smyrna Agent. “This has been a challenging year for real estate but we want everyone to know we are still here and working hard for our clients and the community.”

Agents from the office will be dusting off their cook-books and preparing their best chili recipes in hopes of winning the honor as ‘Best Chili Cook’.

“We invite the public to come enjoy a $5 chili lunch with us and join our efforts in supporting United Way,” said Cindy. “Everyone’s budget is stretched right now so every little bit will help us help local charities supported by United Way.”

Having a successful fundraiser and seeing the impact it has on helping those in need isn’t a new concept for Crye-Leike Smyrna Realtors. Last year’s cook-off raised $1,773 for the Rutherford County Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The inspiration for the event was young Tate Lenfant, the son of Crye-Leike Smyrna Sales Associate Tracey Lenfant, who suffers with Cystic Fibrosis.

Several different styles of chili will be served for lunch on Tuesday, November 3rd from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Everyone who purchases a lunch ticket can sample different chili recipes, toppings, soups and hot dogs. Desserts will also be on sale to help raise money.

In addition to the lunch fundraising, a silent auction will be held and additional monetary donations will be accepted. Anyone who has anything they would like to donate for the auction is encouraged to contact event planner Cindy Speer.

Crye-Leike Smyrna’s Sixth Annual Chili Cook-Off will be held in the office parking lot located at 599 Sam Ridley Parkway in West Smyrna.
