CrossFit Murfreesboro (CFM) will hold a 5K Run/Walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 9.

The event will take place at CFM located at 1056 Seals Way.

A kids “Fun Run 1 Mile” will begin at 8:45 p.m. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and is $25 for all 5K participants and $10 for the kids fun run.

The event is casual and welcomes all ages and abilities.

Recently, Team CFM placed third in a regional competition with other CrossFitters which qualified them as one of only 30 teams in the world eligible to compete in the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games in California.

The 5K is one of a variety of events being held to raise the needed funds for the team to compete in the worldwide competition this summer.

Crossfit Murfreesboro is an independently owned and operated affiliate of Crossfit HQ (crossfit.com). It is unlike any other fitness program available for anyone who is serious about becoming more fit.  The program has been used by the sedentary, elderly, professional athletes, firefighters, law enforcement, military, and in some cases can even be modified for the disabled.

CrossFit began about 10 years ago in California and grew quietly as an underground strength and conditioning program. It has developed a worldwide following and is most noted for its universal scalability for any committed individual, regardless of experience.
