Authorities are asking the public for help in identifying two suspects who have allegedly broken into vehicles and used stolen credit cards recently at several stores in the Murfreesboro area.

Two of the burglaries occurred Oct. 13 just after 5 p.m. in a parking lot at Stones River Battlefield, located in the 1500 block of North Thompson Lane.

Among the items that were stolen in the burglaries include a Sears credit card, Regions Bank debit card and $200 Samsung phone, according to two Murfreesboro Police Department incident reports.

The two men wanted for questioning in connection with the case were videotaped using some of the stolen credit and debit cards a few hours after the burglaries occurred.

Based on the video surveillance footage, the two suspects are described as black males, one of whom was wearing black gloves, a multi-colored baseball cap and plaid shirt.

The other suspect was wearing a red T-shirt, blue jeans and black shoes on the night of the burglaries.

Cars vandalized at dealership

In the past week, two cars have been vandalized at the First Automotive dealership on South Church Street in Murfreesboro.

The first incident occurred Oct. 21 some time after 6 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Church Street, and a second vehicle was damaged Sunday evening, according to incident reports on file at the Murfreesboro Police Department.

Based on evidence collected at the scene, police believe the unidentified suspects threw rocks at the windshield and windows of both vehicles. In total, more than $850 worth of property was damaged.

As of Wednesday, no one had been arrested or charged in connection with the incident, and the matter remains under investigation.

Man charged with statutory rape

A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a teenage girl, following an investigation by Murfreesboro detectives.

Allan “Andre” Charles, of Hazelwood Street, was taken into custody Oct. 23 and charged with one count of statutory rape in connection with the case, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department arrest report.

He is accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl who he met through a mutual friend.

Charles was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and released on a $2,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 15, in Rutherford County General Sessions Court.
