Authorities are searching for a suspect who allegedly robbed a 21-year-old man at gunpoint Monday night in the parking lot of University Gables, located in the 2800 block of South Rutherford Boulevard.
The man told officers an unidentified suspect approached him at about 9:30 p.m., pointed a silver handgun in his face, and demanded his $220 orange Coach wallet, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.
The suspect then fled the area with the wallet, which contained more than $375 in cash and various credit cards, before officers arrived on the scene.
Police believe the suspect, described as a black male with dreadlocks who appeared to be in his early to mid-20s, was armed with either a 9mm pistol or a 40-caliber handgun. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue hooded jacket and matching shorts.

Shots fired near university
Two unidentified suspects allegedly fired multiple rounds toward an unknown target Sunday night near the area of South Bilbro Avenue and East State Street in Murfreesboro.
Officials do not believe anyone was injured as a result of the shooting, which occurred just after 8 p.m. near the 850 block of East State Street, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.
Witnesses told officers that they saw two black males standing in the middle of East State Street indiscriminately shooting toward South Bilbro Avenue before fleeing the scene. At the time of the incident, both suspects were wearing all black clothing and appeared to have long dreadlocks.
During a search of the area, police recovered six shell casings that were in the middle of East State Street but did not find the alleged shooters.
Authorities have not publicly discussed whether they believe the shooting could be a gang-related incident, and the matter remains under investigation.
Drugs stolen from local pharmacy
More than $7,000 worth of painkillers was reportedly stolen during a Sunday afternoon burglary at a locally owned pharmacy in Murfreesboro.
The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of Memorial Boulevard, where Reeve-Sain Pharmacy operates an infusion center for home health care needs, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.
Based on the evidence collected at the scene, Murfreesboro police believe an unknown number of suspects busted through a door located on the backside of the building in order to steal numerous bottles of Oxycodone and Hydrocodone, both of which are controlled substances.
Nearly $1,000 worth of property was also damaged during the burglary.
The evidence, including video footage from various security cameras, has been turned over to detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division for further analysis.
As of Wednesday, police had not arrested or charged anyone in connection with the case, and the matter remains under investigation.
Woman raped at apartment complex
A 21-year-old woman was allegedly raped Saturday night inside a residence at Raiders Crossing near Middle Tennessee State University.
Officers learned about the incident, which occurred in the 1300 block of Hazelwood Street, after the woman was admitted to Middle Tennessee Medical Center for various injuries she sustained during the attack, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.
Authorities have released few details about the circumstances surrounding the alleged rape, though they have confirmed Murfreesboro detectives are examining evidence collected at the scene and attempting to gather more information from the victim.
It also remains unclear whether police have identified a possible suspect in the case.
