CRIME BRIEFS: Police nab man wanted on numerous charges

An 18-year-old man wanted on numerous felony charges was apprehended Wednesday when police noticed him riding in a car near the intersection of Old Lascassas Pike and Brown Drive in Murfreesboro.

Walter L. Wright, of Hanover Street, was arrested at about 5 p.m. after police confirmed his identity and the status of the warrants, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department arrest report.

Wright, who is also the subject of a sealed indictment, has been wanted in Rutherford County on one count of aggravated burglary, two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping, one count of especially aggravated robbery, as well as conspiracy to commit aggravated burglary.

As of Friday, the indictment remained sealed, and further information regarding the charges was not immediately available.

He is currently being held on a $100,000 bond at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, and a preliminary hearing on the charges has not yet been scheduled in Rutherford County General Sessions Court.
