MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Detectives are continuing their investigation into whether a Florida woman was raped while attending a New Year’s Eve party in the 1300 block of North Rutherford Boulevard.

The rape allegedly occurred at about 7 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2013, inside a residence at the Rutherford Woodlands apartment complex, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.

At the time of the incident, the woman was visiting with friends who live in Murfreesboro.

Although she has since returned to Florida, the woman is cooperating with Murfreesboro authorities and working with them to identify a possible suspect.

Local brewery burglarized

An unknown number of suspects stole an estimated $200 in cash this weekend from Mayday Brewery, located in the 500 block of Old Salem Highway.

Based on statements given by employees to the responding officers, the locally owned business was likely targeted some time between 9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. Sunday, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.

A window that was used to gain access inside of the building was also damaged during the incident.

Murfreesboro detectives also responded to the scene to collect evidence and take over the case. While there, they were able to obtain footage from a nearby security camera, which investigators are in the process of reviewing.

As of Tuesday, no one had been arrested or charged in connection with the burglary, and the matter remains under investigation.
