Police are looking for two suspects who allegedly stole more than $500 from a Murfreesboro man during an armed robbery Dec. 19 on January Street.

The 31-year-old man reported he was walking home at about 2:45 p.m. from a nearby store where he had just cashed a check, when two men in a silver Chevrolet Impala pulled over, jumped out of the vehicle and robbed him at gunpoint, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report filed by Officer Dustin Evans.

The suspects are described as two black males who appeared to be in their early- to mid-20s.

The man told police the driver had short hair and was wearing glasses, a gold necklace, blue shirt and blue jeans, and the passenger had short hair styled into 2-inch twists and was wearing a grey hoodie and blue jeans.

Collection agency accused of harassment
A Kroger employee reported Dec. 21 a representative from an out-of-state debt collection agency has been calling the store incessantly demanding information about a former co-worker.

The man who identified himself as “Mickey” from American Legal Services has called more than 25 times a day, and the phone calls have increasingly become more hostile, according to an MPD incident report filed by Sgt. Tim Higgins.

While Higgins was at the scene investigating the situation, the same man called and made obscene comments several times, even issuing threats on some occasions.

As a result, Higgins intervened and told the man to stop calling the store. He also explained to Kroger management how the company could press charges, if it so chooses.

Suspected burglar facing multiple charges
A Murfreesboro man is facing multiple charges after he was allegedly caught breaking into a vehicle Dec. 22 outside of Riverstone Saloon on North Thompson Lane.

Jordan T. Bradley, 21, has been charged with burglary to an automobile, possession of a Schedule IV drug and misdemeanor theft. He was also charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, according to an MPD arrest report filed by Officer Sean Garrison.

Upon his arrival at the scene, Garrison reported Bradley had attempted to dispose of a handgun near the edge of the woods before surrendering to police. Police also found stolen items from the vehicle in Bradley’s pockets when he was searched before being taken into custody.

Bradley was transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, where he was held on a $12,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear Feb. 1 in General Sessions Court.

Multiple people arrested following brawl
Police used pepper spray to disperse several people involved in an altercation Monday on South Rutherford Boulevard, after a glass bottle was thrown at an officer who was trying to take two suspects into custody.

The incident occurred just before midnight in the 1400 block of University Gables at College Park Apartments.

Twenty-one-year-old Charmayne V. Pincheon and Thomas J. Childress, 21, were both charged with disorderly conduct in connection with the incident. Childress has also been charged with resisting arrest, according to an MPD arrest report filed by Officer Robert McAdams.

McAdams reported that when he arrived at the scene, he observed several people fighting and gave numerous verbal commands ordering the group to stop.

Several officers also responded to the scene. However, no one stopped and the situation continued to escalate, at which point McAdams deployed pepper spray to gain control of the crowd.

Pincheon and Childress were taken into custody and transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center for booking. Pincheon was held on a $500 bond, and Childress was held on a $2,000 bond. Both are scheduled to appear Feb. 9 in General Sessions Court.

Agreed, postlooker22. Very sad. Murfreesboro is getting ridiculous. These punks robbed a guy at gunpoint, in broad daylight, on a busy street.

A brawl at University Gables... how classy. What kind of students is MTSU accepting these days?
