A 12-year-old Murfreesboro girl who befriended a teenage boy online was reportedly threatened Monday by his girlfriend when she discovered the two had been communicating on Facebook.
The girlfriend allegedly threatened to slit the girl’s throat, according to a Murfreesboro Police Department incident report.
When the girl’s brother saw the message Tuesday, he alerted their mother to the situation, at which point officers were notified.
Although police were unable to identify the girlfriend’s identity because she used her boyfriend’s Facebook account to issue the threat, the incident was documented for future use, if needed.
Officers also advised the girl’s mother to notify her school about the incident.
Woman accuses stepbrother of rape
A Lebanon woman reported Monday she was raped by her stepbrother one year ago at Safari Inn on Southgate Boulevard in Murfreesboro.
The 39-year-old woman told police she initially rode with her stepbrother to visit her mother in the hospital. However, the Smyrna resident said he first needed to talk to someone about buying tires and took her to the hotel, at which point she was allegedly raped at knifepoint, according to a Police Department incident report.
She said he then drove her to the hospital, where she stayed overnight.
During the past year, the woman said she remained in fear for her safety because he has repeatedly asked for sex and made obscene gestures, especially given the fact that she recently learned he may have a sexually transmitted disease.
Officers notified a detective with the Criminal Investigations Division, and officials with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office have also been informed of the matter.
As of Thursday, the stepbrother had not been arrested or charged in connection with the incident, which remains under investigation. |
