One couple was robbed at gunpoint and another man robbed while walking home from work during the weekend, Murfreesboro Police reported.

David and Amy Hopkins of McEwen, Tenn., were robbed when they tried to buy a camera from a seller Sunday on North Tennessee Boulevard, Officer Jared Boisseau reported.

They emailed a man about a camera on the online Craig’s List and agreed to meet him. The man introduced himself and reached into a bag, pulling out a silver handgun.

“Give me all you’ve got,” the robber told the couple.

“We are not going to do this,” Amy Hopkins said.

Three more robbers wearing hoodies approached.

Hopkins hit the panic button on her remote control keys to unlock her door. She and her husband drove to nearby St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church where they called police.

In a separate hold up, Officer Bob Sirising reported James Harris of Murfreesboro Motel on Northwest Broad Street was walking home from work about 11 p.m. Sunday when people in a four-door silver car with tinted windows stopped him.

“Are you looking for something?” the front seat passenger asked before getting out of the car, the officer reported. The passenger struck Harris in his face and robbed him of cash, a necklace and identity and Social Security cards.
