Instead of attending worship at their church’s current location in Blackman High School, more than 250 adults, teens and children of River Oaks Community Church will participate in a variety of service projects.
On Sunday, Sept. 27, the people of River Oaks Community Church will be canceling their worship service in order to serve our community.
The goal is to provide a “no strings attached” act of kindness to people who may not regularly attend a church, as well as to help others who have a specific need.
The projects include:
• Room makeover and encouragement luncheon for families at the Domestic Violence Shelter, • Remodeling a homeless care center, • Providing a cookout for an MTSU students’ apartment complex, • Throwing a birthday party for 50 needy children and their families, • Sponsoring a Gas Buy Down & Free Car Wash at a local gas station, • Appreciating teachers at Blackman High School, • Initiating two home improvement projects, • Throwing a neighborhood block party at a local apartment complex, • Supporting a Laotian soccer league, • And visiting local nursing homes.
