NEW ORLEANS - Middle Tennessee senior forward Alysha Clark matched a Sun Belt record with her 12th Player of the Week selection March 1 it was announced Monday by the league office. It is the final honor given out by the league this season.

The dozen awards given to Clark equal the league record set by Western Kentucky's Crystal Kelly from 2005-08. Clark accumulated her 12 in just two years in the Sun Belt, 2009 and 2010.

The All-American from Mt. Juliet, Tenn., led the Blue Raiders to a pair of road wins last week, knocking off FIU and Florida Atlantic to conclude the regular season with a 13-game winning streak.

She averaged 30.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg as Middle Tennessee secured the East Division crown and No. 2 seed in the upcoming Sun Belt Championships.

Against FIU, she converted 11-of-12 field goals, including her lone 3-point attempt, and adding 2-of-2 free throws for game-high scoring honors of 25 points, while hauling in a game-best tying eight rebounds.

She then continued her solid week by again leading all players with a double-double of 36 points and 13 boards against Florida Atlantic during the Sun Belt Network Game of the Week. She hit 15-of-23 field goals, featuring 2-of-3 triples, and 4-of-4 free throws to pass the 30-point mark for the 10th time this season and fifth game out of the last six to conclude the regular season.

The double-double is the 71st of her career, 16th of the season and 33rd as a Blue Raider, moving her within one of fifth place on the NCAA's all-time list.

Clark was named as one of 30 Midseason Candidates for the Naismith Trophy presented by AT&T for the second-straight year as the only Sun Belt representative.

She will join the rest of her Blue Raider teammates, who finished the regular season 22-5 overall and 17-1 in the Sun Belt, at the league tournament. With the No. 2 seed, Middle Tennessee has earned an opening round bye and will begin play at 2:15 p.m. Sunday against the winner of No. 7 FIU and No. 10 North Texas.
