Clarence Banks, age 84, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014. He was a native of Hickman County and the son of the late Mitchum Robert and Olivia Mae King Banks.

Funeral service will be 11:00am Monday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Dr. Stanley Outlaw and Trymon Messer will officiate. Graveside service will be 3:00pm Monday at Totty’s Bend Church of Christ Cemetery, Hickman County, with full military rites.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bobbie Williams Banks, brothers, Kenneth Banks and his wife Louise of Williamsport, Howard Banks and his wife  Peggy of Murfreesboro, brother-in-law, Claude Williams and his wife Paula of Blytheville, AR, sister-in-law, Anne Martin and her husband Bill of  Jonesboro, AR, numerous nieces and nephews including a special thanks to his niece Tina Sanders who generously cared for him in the hospital and at home until the very end, and his great nephew, Dylan Sanders, who was like a grandson and kept Uncle Banks youthful for so long with the activities they shared together.

Mr. Banks served his country for 23 years in the United States Air Force and later worked for the Civil Service for many years before his retirement. He was a member of Corner Stone Free Will Baptist Church. Mr. Banks was a Mason and a Shriner.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Banks, Lee Banks, Dakota Sanders, Dylan Sanders, Scott Simpson, Bill Martin, Scotty Miracle, Bobby Bevis, Billy Walker and Anthony Poff.
