City urges 'Looky Lous' to stay home

The city of Murfreesboro asks all residents to avoid all areas impacted by the Good Friday Tornado.

The city is currently conducting recovery and clean-up operations and through traffic is hampering the effort, especially those who are attempting to look at the destruction.

“We have large utility trucks with debris on the roads,” explained Ram Balachandran, adding it would be a great help for cleanup and make everyone’s jobs easier if rubber-neckers steered clear of the areas most heavily affected.

Please avoid the intersection of Thompson Lane and Broad Street, Thompson Lane to Haynes Drive and Haynes Drive from Thompson to Memorial Boulevard all week if possible.

These roads are open to residents, but local police and state troopers have set up checkpoints.
