Murfreesboro City Council met briefly last night to approve all items on the body’s agenda.

The council approved agreements with the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the construction of the Gateway Trail.

The agreement will allow the city to request and receive reimbursement from the state for to-date and future construction costs associated with the project.

The council also approved additional spending on the project, along with the improvements to Middle Tennessee Boulevard from Broad to Main streets for more than $475,000. But the West Main Convenience Center improvements cost less than excepted, saving the city more than $110,000.

An ordinance to rezone property along Rushwood Drive and South Church Street was approved on second reading.
