Why are you running?
I care about Murfreesboro and its future. My parents taught me that when you care you get involved, that is why I am running. I want keep Murfreesboro moving forward and make it an even better city.

What is your position on district versus at-large representation?
I support a districting plan. Let’s keep our numbers the same. We could have six councilpersons chosen by district and the Mayor would remain at-large. This plan would ensure that all Murfreesboro had a voice. Term limits should also be considered and we need to move our election date to November, when people are used to voting. Better representation, more participation and a huge cost savings.

What is your position on the economic issues facing the city?
My "Eight Point Plan For A Better Murfreesboro" addresses these concerns. I have called for "independent performance audits of city government to improve efficiency in all departments and to conduct an independent public audit to expose financial problems and find ways to save tax dollars."

You can see the plan at VoteMarkNobles.com.

In these tough economic times, the city should strive to either delay or trim projects currently underway or planned. Our priorities should be to maintain what we have, delay projects that are not absolutely needed till we can afford them - such as the Water Park.

What is the most pressing city issue and your possible solution?
Make no mistake, while people are talking to me everyday about the need to district and the benefits of moving the election to November, the No. 1 concern is our economy.

Murfreesboro must be more pro-business. Let’s end the heavy-handed sign ordinances, end the resistance to new advertising technologies, stop the discrimination against traditional homes in favor of zero-lot line and condominiums, and re-evaluate city taxes, fees and regulations.

We don’t want to lose another corporate headquarters or assembly plant.

We need jobs and we need to let the world know, “Murfreesboro is open for business!”
