Rutherford Neighborhood Alliance (RNA) will hold a Candidates Forum for the upcoming Murfreesboro City Council Election from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9 at the Patterson Park Community Center.

Both mayoral candidates — Tim Davis and Tommy Bragg — are scheduled to attend.

Most city council candidates — David Boyce, Madelyn Scales Harris, Shane McFarland, Thomas C. Moss, Mark Nobles, Bill Shacklett, Brain Vaughan and Doug Young — have confirmed. Incumbent councilman David Edwards had not confirmed his attendance as of Tuesday.

RNA is a non-partisan citizen organization, which promotes and supports fairness, accountability and equity in local governments throughout Rutherford County through the study of the issues and citizen action.

The organization is holding this Candidates Forum so the voters of Murfreesboro can meet the candidates and make an informed decision when voting in the upcoming Murfreesboro City Council election in April.

Candidates will make opening remarks at the forum and will then be questioned by a moderator. Additional questions will be selected from the audience through a selection committee and asked to each of the candidates.

Patterson Park is located at 521 Mercury Boulevard.
