The city of Murfreesboro will receive an $80,000 grant for improvements and renovation of the Fortress Rosecrans Trailhead extending to the Manson Pike Trailhead of the Stones River Greenway, State Sen. Bill Ketron (R-Murfreesboro) annouced last week.

“Many of our citizens enjoy these trails,” Ketron said. “These funds will enable us to make needed improvements.”

The project was one of several grants selected through a scoring process, with careful consideration given to the projects that met the selection criteria and expressed the greatest recreation need.

Funding for these grant awards comes from the Recreational Trails Program from the Federal Highway Administration and administered by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
