FRANKLIN, Tenn.- Chuy's, a Mexican restaurant known for its use of fresh ingredients, large portions and eclectic décor, has announced it will open the doors of its Murfreesboro restaurant in the spring of 2010.

The announcement of the Murfreesboro location follows the opening of the Chuy's in Franklin on Tuesday, Nov. 3, in Cool Springs. The newest Chuy's will be the second location outside of Texas, where Chuy's currently has 15 locations across the state. The much-anticipated Murfreesboro Chuy's will be located at the former Davy Crockett's location on Northwest Broad Street.

Plans to reinvent the current building are underway, including the construction of a thatched-roof palapa patio. Chuy's diners can expect to see hand-carved wooden fish and colorful art on display, along with hubcaps on the ceiling, metal palm trees in the dining room and the Chuy's signature shrine of Elvis.

Chuy’s will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner.

The restaurant will feature a large bar area with happy hour to include drink specials and the fully loaded nacho car, with free queso, chips, salsa and taco meat. Features on the menu include Burritos As Big As Yo' Face, Stuffed Chile Rellenos and margaritas made with fresh squeezed lime juice.

Founded in 1982 in Austin, Texas, Chuy's serves authentic and affordable Mexican fare in an atmosphere full of fun and attitude. With 15 locations in Texas, the menu offers authentic family recipes from South Texas, New Mexico and Mexican border towns, all made to order from fresh ingredients.

Chuy's is known for exceptional service and unbelievable portions at a phenomenal value, with only one item on the menu over $10. Chuy's has the reputation across Texas as the most fun and friendly spot to eat real Mexican food at a great price. For more information, visit Facebook.com/ChuysNashville or www.chuys.com.

This is going to be great. I've been to Chuy's restaurants in Austin a ton of times and it's always awesome. Can't wait!

Can The Boro handle another Mexican flavor or Oriental flavor restaurant?

I am with you ItsGood, we are over populated with restaurants. Especially Asian and Mexican ones... But, hey, that's progress! It will bring money here, so it is not all bad..

Trvlace, I agree - as long as sales are up it creates jobs, helps the economy. But what happens when they close - Don Pablo's is a bad image on the city having sat there closed all this time. That was a corporate wide closing, not just local, but the location should say "RENT ME". At the same time "I can see it, how to I get to it" and the terrible signage prevents rental of such property ( probably what happened to Bellacino's - I see it, how do I get to it, and what does that small sign say ).

On Bellacinos, you're right - that building is essentially hidden. They had a really good product and were in a really bad location. You had to know it was there to notice it.
