Christiana tornado confirmed by NWS

Preliminary investigation shows an EF-0 tornado touched down in two miles west of Christiana Wednesday night, the National Weather Service said.

The tornado caused damage on Walnut Grove Road near Shelbyville Highway around 7 p.m. Wednesday night along a one-mile long, 50-yard wide path.

An NWS survey found uprooted trees, shingle damage on a few homes and damage to a couple of outbuildings.

It caused no injuries and no fatalities.

The tornado had an estimated maximum wind speed of 80 MPH.
