The Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department in conjunction with Safe Kids will be conducting child safety seat inspections Thursday, Jan. 24, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The inspections will be located at Fire Station 2 at 2880 Runnymeade Drive in Murfreesboro. The public can stop by the station to let firefighters check their child’s safety seat for proper installation.
This inspection is the final requirement for a 32-hour class that will officially certify 25 fire personnel to safely and correctly install child safety seats.
“We are excited to be able to offer this service to the citizens of Murfreesboro,” Chief Cumbey Gaines said. “The public will be able to stop by any fire station or any event where our Special Events Team is present and have their child safety seat inspected or installed correctly.”
Safe Kids is a nationwide network of organizations working to prevent unintentional childhood injury, the leading cause of death and disability for children ages 1 to 14. For more information, visit www.safekids.org.
