Charles Kenneth Leonard Sr., 85, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., died Nov. 26, 2013.
A native of Rutherford County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Leonard and Annie Baird Leonard.
He was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Lascassas High School.
Mr. Leonard was employed by Singer Co. for 28 years and was the retired owner of Murfreesboro Vacuum and Sewing Center. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melba Hewitt Leonard; two sons, Randy Leonard and his wife, Cindy, of Manchester, Tenn., and Kenneth Leonard Jr. and his wife, Tricia, of Lascassas, Tenn.; two daughters, Diane Church and her husband, Jerry, of Readyville, Tenn., and Janie Adkison and her husband, Clyde, of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Richard Leonard, of Murfreesboro, and Hoyte Leonard, of Alcoa, Tenn.; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation with the family was held Nov. 29 from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. at Woodfin Funeral Chapel.
Funeral services were held Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. David Humphrey and Jimmy Hughes officiated. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Kenneth Leonard Jr., Randall Leonard, Clyde Adkison, Lance Leonard, James Leonard and Darrell Humphrey served as active pallbearers.
