Charles Frederick Jacobus, 90, of Smyrna, Tenn., died Dec. 8, 2013, at NHC HealthCare in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
He was a native of Memphis and a son of the late Otha Charles “Jack” Jacobus and Jewell Mae Price Jacobus.
Mr. Jacobus was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ and a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired as the chief chef from Opryland USA Theme Park.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son Harold Dewayne Jacobus.
Mr. Jacobus is survived by his wife, Zamah Cookston Jacobus; daughters Joye Young and her husband, Steve, of Florida, and Glenda Beard and her husband, Johnny, of Memphis; son Charles F. Jacobus Jr. and his wife, Lyn, of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister Constance Naomi Vulcano, of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Gail Jacobus, of Watertown, Tenn.; grandchildren Adam Barker, Micah Williams, Seth Barker, Brian Nabors, Barrett Beard, Caroline Jacobus, and Carson Jacobus; and two great-grandchildren Caroline Williams, Addison Barker.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Smyrna Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, at Smyrna Church of Christ with Tim Lavender officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
