Charles Daniel Garner, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., died Jan. 14, 2014, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was 60 years old.
Known as "Danny" by his family and friends, Mr. Garner was born in Marianna, Ark., on June 11, 1953, and moved to Murfreesboro in 1964. He retired from Bemis Industries, formally Paramount Packaging, in Shelbyville, Tenn., in 2010.
He is preceded in death by his father Charles Wesley Garner and step-father McCord Castleberry. He is survived by his mother Margaret Castleberry, partner-in-life Elizabeth Slaback, sister Becky Jones (Palmer), step-sister Robbie Castleberry (Lowe McCrary), nephew Lance Jones (Amy), all of Murfreesboro niece Wendy Coleman (Mike) Huntingdon, Tenn. Great-nephews Brock and Tanner Jones, great-nieces Ashleigh and Katie Coleman along with many other loving family members and friends.
Mr. Garner loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years. He also raised beautiful Persian cats.
The family would like to thank Dr. Chatman, Dr. Matt Garner and all the nurses at St. Thomas Rutherford for the wonderful care he received during his stay at the hospital.
The family would like to also thank everyone who visited and prayed for Mr. Garner during his time of illness.
