Charity Circle adds option for Young Ducklings | EVENT

Willson, Lissa Young, Ruth Bouldin are planning a late nite edition to the Duck Ball.
The Charity Circle hopes to attract a younger crowd to the Duck Ball this year by adding a late party.

The Duck Ball, Murfreesboro’s first and longest-running formal ball for charity, will be held Saturday, April 25 at Embassy Suites. The Patron’s Party is Saturday, April 18 at the home of Susan and Lee Moss.

But if you’re not up for the whole evening, the late party starts at 10 p.m. – just in time for the dancing – for a discounted price of $50.

Entertainment will be provided by Escalade, high-energy, nine-piece show and dance Band from New Orleans.

Escalade will get the crowd moving with sounds from the 50s through the 90s by blending oldies and goodies from Elvis and Kool and the Gang to Ricky Martin and Sam Cooke.

Late party admittance will continue until 1:00 a.m. Dress will be cocktail. A cash bar will be available at the late party.

Proceeds will remain in Murfreesboro supporting the agencies, who have come to count on the Charity Circle’s financial support to further their work with deserving citizens.

The original Ugly Duckling name was a bit of a spoof of Nashville’s premier event, the Swan Ball, but the intent more than 40 years ago by the women of the Charity Circle was serious, raising funds for community charitable needs.

Charity Circle assists more than 20 local agencies on a quarterly basis and Circle members serve on the boards of every supported charity and are actively involved on them.

Anyone wishing to attend all events, or in part, may contact Joyce Taylor at 615-578-7699 or they can e-mail her at joycehtaylor@yahoo.com and their name will be added to the invitation list.
