Charges are pending against a man accused of beating his girlfriend and her father during a fight early Sunday on January Street, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Daniel Eugene Hazel of January Street heard his daughter, Tiffany, and her boyfriend fighting inside his home, Officer Jason Brown reported. When he entered her room, he observed the boyfriend beating her.
When Hazel intervened, the boyfriend attempted to stab the father with a hunting knife, the officer reported.
“After a brief fight, the knife was dropped and Mr. Hazel was beaten about the head and face,” Brown reported.
The boyfriend left the scene. Arrest warrants were obtained charging him with aggravated assault and domestic assault.
