The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce announced this morning Paul Latture, III has been named the organization’s new president. A third generation economic developer, Latture served as president and chief executive officer for the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce in Tennessee since 2002.
“Paul has extensive experience leading Chamber organizations and I am confident he will do a fantastic job for Rutherford County,” said search committee chairman Norman Brown. “Paul understands Middle Tennessee having worked as the vice president for economic development for Clarksville’s Industrial Development Board. I truly believe with his skills, vision and relationships, he can enhance this great organization and take it to the next level.” In his role as President/CEO of the Jackson Area Chamber, Madison County has seen the creation of nearly 4,200 new jobs. Latture also coordinated Jackson’s economic development efforts with the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, where he served as assistant commissioner before coming to Jackson. Latture has also worked closely with the Tennessee Valley Authority and local government officials. Currently, he serves as vice president of the Tennessee Economic Development Council, a statewide organization comprised of economic development professionals.
Latture has worked extensively in the chamber industry for more than 18 years. Prior to his position at the Jackson Area Chamber, Latture served as executive vice president for economic development for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Industrial Development Board and served as director of membership and governmental affairs for the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce.
“I am extremely excited about the opportunity to work with such a truly progressive community as Rutherford County, said Latture. “I am looking forward to working with an outstanding board of directors, staff, business leaders and government officials. Rutherford County is well-known not only on the state level but on the national level for economic and community development. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to further enhance the mission of the Chamber and Destination Rutherford.”
Chamber board chairman Blake Smith said Latture’s extensive experience with membership and economic development will greatly benefit the community.
"Paul is the epitome of a true chamber executive,” said Smith. “He has a proven track record of overseeing all facets of a high-caliber chamber including economic development, membership, governmental affairs, tourism and community development. Our board was committed to recruiting an executive of this caliber and I think Paul is a home run for Rutherford County. We look forward to Paul and his family joining our community.”
