Come and experience a story about love, loss, and self-discovery that will be presented by talented young actors and instrumentalists at Central Magnet School in Murfreesboro.
Students from the theatre and orchestra departments will perform the world-renowned musical, “The Secret Garden,” at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 21, and Friday, March 22, as well as at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 23, in the school’s auditorium.
“The Secret Garden” is an enchanting classic of children’s literature, which has been re-imagined in a musical style following the 11-year-old Mary Lennox, orphaned in India.
Mary returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son, Colin. The estate’s many wonders include a magic garden, which beckons the children with haunting melodies, and the Dreamers, spirits from Mary’s past who guide her through her new life.
“The Secret Garden” is a compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal sure to entertain all ages.
Student tickets are $5 and adult tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Concessions will be sold.
