You’ve worked hard all year and now it’s time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. But before you throw the burgers on the grill, consider celebrating Labor Day by donating blood with the American Red Cross.

The Murfreesboro Donor Center is open on Labor Day - Monday, Sept. 7, from 8 a.m. to noon. The center is located at 836 Commercial Court in Murfreesboro.

All presenting donors that report their donations on redcrossracing.com will receive
75 Red Cross Racing bonus points for blood donations made Friday, Sept. 4 through Friday, Sept. 11.

Red Cross Racing is a donor rewards program designed to increase the number of blood donors and the number of times they donate. Participants of this program can get points for a variety of activities including giving blood and/or platelets, and recruiting other blood donors. Fans are invited to join the program by visiting www.redcrossracing.com. Once registered, you can begin accruing points.

In addition to Labor Day hours, the Murfreesboro Donor Center is open:
o Monday & Thursday 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
o Friday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
o Saturday & Sunday 7 a.m. to 12 noon

Donors must be in general good health, weigh 110 pounds or more, and be at least 17 years old (16 with completed Parental Consent Form). Please bring your donor card or photo ID.

Please allow approximately 60 minutes for the entire blood donation process. Appointments are encouraged. Walk-in donors are welcome; however, those with appointments will be given priority. For more information on blood donation, call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (448-3543) or log on to www.givelife.org.
