Ceiling collapses at Smyrna Bowling Center | Snow
Weight of the heavy showfall caused a portion of the Smyrna Bowling Center's ceiling to collapse early Saturday.

The center will remain closed until the owners determine the safety of the remainder of the building.

The damage forced a halt to the TSSAA state bowling tournament which was underway at the facility.

Multiple lanes are damaged, there is a large amount of water damage, and the building is without water and power at this point. The damage to the facility is so extreme that no one is permitted to enter the bowling center.

Unfortunately, the state bowling tournament cannot continue today and is indefinitely postponed. Any decisions regarding future plans for the continuation of the tournament will be communicated to schools as soon as a decision has been made, TSSAA officials said.

Thank God, The Lord, that it didn't happen while the lanes were occupied...

Also, from the picture shown in this article, it doesn't appear that there are any gaping holes in the roof or ceiling. It looks rather like the scoreboard or internal structure that may have been suspended from the ceiling, i.e., not snow induced...Anyhow, glad the people weren't there yet...

There is very little room to "spare"....maybe the "gutters" were clogged. I never thought this type of event would "strike" the bowling alley. I bet there were a few "pins" loose.
