Monday’s early morning mobile home fire on Wenlon Drive started in the back bedroom of the unit, Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department Assistant Fire Marshal Carl Peas said.
The cause of the fire is still unknown and continues to be under investigation.
The unit could be a total loss because the fire spread to the ceiling area and most of the ceiling had to be pulled, Shift Commander Daryl Alexander said.
No one was home when crews responded to the fire just shortly after 4 a.m.
“The two residents were in the process of moving out,” said Peas. “The unit was not completely vacant, but only a small amount of furniture and a few other items were left in the unit.”
At this time, the cause of the fire is still under investigation. More information will be released when available.
