| State Rep. Joe Carr may have an easy re-election, according to a poll commissioned by the Tennessee Republican Party.
The poll, by Public Opinion Strategies, shows the District 48 Republican holding a 55 percent to 28 percent over Democratic challenger David LaRoche.
Among Independent voters, Carr holds a 58-17 percent lead. Carr trails among Democrats, 20 percent-66 percent, and self-described liberals, 22 percent-70 percent.
“These latest poll numbers reflect that Rutherford County voters recognize Rep. Carr’s excellent record of service in the Tennessee House of Representatives,” Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Chris Devaney said in a press release.
The pollsters concluded, “Carr is well positioned for re-election. Carr owns a wide lead over his Democratic opponent, nearly doubling him on the ballot and leading with the key swing voters — Independents.”
Public Opinion Strategies recently conducted a district-wide survey of 300 likely voters in Tennessee’s 48th State House District Aug. 16-17. The poll was conducted on August 16-17 and has a margin of error of +/- 5.66 percent. |
