Every time someone in Murfreesboro picks up their phone in the next year, they will be greeted by a photo of Cannonsburgh Pioneer Village’s gristmill.

“For the next year, Cannonsburgh Village will be front and center for anyone picking up the Real Yellowpages,” said Kathy Sager, area manager of legislative and external affairs at AT&T.

Cannonsburgh Village started as a Bicentennial project in 1976 as a testament to pioneer life in Tennessee and has continued for the last 35 years, thanks to community and local government support.

“We think that is a real tribute to Rutherford County and the history of Rutherford County …” Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Director Lanny Goodwin said. “Cannonsburgh really represents what Murfreesboro and Rutherford County are about.”

Including the 50,000 people who attended Uncle Dave Macon Days, more than 100,000 visitors are expected to visit Cannonsburgh this year.

And even more can now view the gristmill on the AT&T Real Yellow Pages directory and Leeman House on the companion directory.

“This village represents over 120 years of southern life. … It’s only fitting we honor this community resource today,” Goodwin said.

Delivery of the new directory started Tuesday, Sept. 15 and will also be available to new residents and businesses throughout the year. The coverage area includes Eagleville- Rockvale, Fosterville, LaVergne, Milton, Nolensville and Woodbury-Woodland.
