Murfreesboro Police need help finding a man suspected of stealing a wallet from a local convenience store.

On Aug. 14, surveillance footage shows a black male in his early 50s taking the wallet from the counter of the Super Cheap Cigarette store in Jackson Heights Plaza.

Victim Charles Smith reported he accidentally left his wallet on the counter after purchasing something from the store.

“(He) did not realize it until he had gotten outside of the store,” Murfreesboro Police Officer Deric Haynes reported. “When he went back in the wallet was gone.”

The suspect made a purchase right after Smith and can be seen on the surveillance footage sliding the wallet into his shirt pocket.
