C-SPAN Campaign 2008 to make Murfreesboro stop

Following its use at the debate at the Presidential debate Tuesday night, the C-SPAN Campaign 2008 production truck will be at MTSU from 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, as part of the “Road to the White House” tour.

Middle Tennessee residents will join the thousands who have toured the 45-foot mobile production studio and multi-media demonstration vehicle.

The mobile studio will be open for viewing and tours about how C-SPAN produces its programs and to promote and enhance C-SPAN’s comprehensive political coverage.

C-SPAN was created in 1979 by America’s cable companies as a public service to provide a record of political events.

Since its January 2007 launch, the Campaign 2008 bus has been to 43 state capitols; 134 universities and 195 schools where 374 elected officials; more than 4,000 teachers; 44,000 students and four presidential candidates have been on board.

The bus tour’s schedule is as follows:
Monday, Oct. 6
10am-12pm: FCC DTV Tour, Nashville City Center, 511 Union Street
1pm-3pm: Brentwood High Students receive “behind the scenes” tour of debate site at Belmont University.

Tuesday, Oct. 7
9am-11am: Maplewood High School, 401 Walter Lane
12pm-4pm: “Belmont Block Party,” Lombard St., Belmont Univ.
6pm-9pm: AARP Debate Watch at Centennial Park

Wednesday, Oct. 8
10am-12pm: Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro
12:30pm-3pm: Nashville School of the Arts, 1250 Foster Avenue, Nashville

Thursday, Oct. 9
8am-Noon: Brentwood High School, 5304 Murray Ln, Brentwood Students to be featured on C-SPAN’s national morning show, “Washington Journal”

Friday, Oct. 10
8:30am-11am: Currey-Ingram Academy, 6544 Murray Ln, Brentwood
11:30am-1pm: Brentwood Rotary Club, 5123 Country Club Drive, Brentwood
2pm-4pm: Southern Festival of Books, War Memorial Plaza

Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11-12

I want to be there to see that bus take off! It will have to fly to get to Foster Avenue in 30 minutes!
