Businessman announces bid for county seat

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -- Local businessman Rusty Dallas has announced his candidacy in the Republican Party primary for Rutherford County Register of Deeds Office.

The primary will be held in May with early voting beginning in mid-April.

Dallas, an Middle Tennessee State University alumnus who has lived in Murfreesboro since 1966, said he plans to bring his more than 30 years of business experience to serve the people of Rutherford County.

Since 1983, Dallas has worked as an insurance agent and financial adviser, and he is a registered financial consultant.

“I’m very grateful to the people of Rutherford County for the great success I have enjoyed in my business,” Dallas said. “I feel blessed to live in this great community and will be honored to serve as the register of deeds.”

In addition to his professional pursuits, Dallas is a member of the Murfreesboro Rotary Club and Paul Harris Fellow, which is given to members who have contributed outstanding service to the club. He is also a member of the Blue Raider Athletic Association, MTSU Alumni Association and National Rifle Association.
