Business Profile: Ol' Saint Nick | Christmas

Santa Claus
Name:  Santa Claus

Title: Jolly Ole Elf

Company name: Joyful World Enterprises Unlimited

Web site: Why do your own when so many are willing to do the heavy lifting? Take your pick by entering “Santa Claus Website” in your browser. Anyone wanting to keep tabs on my journey Thursday should visit www.noradsanta.org.

Address:   North Pole – We are considering relocating depending on the long-term health of the polar ice cap. Spitzbergen is a possibility, although we are willing to entertain offers.

Time in current position: Longer than I can even remember and not nearly long enough to accomplish all I have planned.

What does your company produce? Peace and Joy

What is your basic business philosophy?
Take really good care of your customer and your customer will take really good care of you. (Hint, hint – A couple of white chocolate and macadamia nut cookies Thursday night would really work for me.)

What is your proudest business achievement?
Using some principles of quantum physics we were able to break open what had become a logistical nightmare.

What led you to Murfreesboro?
My sleigh-mounted GPS system. That’s a joke. What leads me to Murfreesboro year after year is what leads me to all community’s of good will throughout the world: the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of every child and their families.

What is your educational background?
If you’ve been around as long as I have, you pick up things here and there. I understand there are schools that give college credit for life experience. If I had the time, I’d sign on. I suspect I would probably qualify for a Ph.D.

Where are you originally from? France. That’s another joke. No, that was the Coneheads. Actually I was born in Turkey but long ago became a citizen of the world.

What do you do for fun? I aspire to do stand-up. I work on my routines all the time. So far only the reindeer seem to be catching on.

Tell us about your family: Jessica Claus, wife. We have no children of our own so we have informally adopted every child in the world as one of ours, whether they are naughty or nice.

Who was your mentor? At the risk of seeming to be self-important, I like to think I have been a mentor – usually in a small way – to everybody who has a generous heart.
