What does your company produce? I, along with my very capable staff, offer an eclectic mix of antique furniture, from Shabby Chic to high-end French. We also have a variety of gifts and decorative accessories including Fresh and Funky jewelry, soy candles, handmade soaps and a splash of vintage.

What is your basic business philosophy? My basic business philosophy is to continue to strive for customer satisfaction through consistency and fair business practices. Consistency is important to my employees, but it is vital to my customer relations. Achieving total customer satisfaction is critical to maintaining a competitive advantage. "Doing it right the first time" and consistently offering outstanding service and products, assures customer satisfaction. People have confidence dealing with me, and I have confidence dealing with them.

Give us a sales pitch in 25 words or less: I don’t really have a sales pitch; I just enjoy talking with my customers and finding out what they like to see in my shop.

What is your proudest business achievement? My proudest business achievement has been the opening of Bungalow. This shop has been my dream for many years and it has finally become a reality.

What led you to Murfreesboro? Growing up in an Army family, I have moved many times. My dad’s last assignment brought us back to Tennessee, and the family chose Murfreesboro as the best place to continue raising a family.

What is your educational background? Bachelor’s degree in theater and special education

Where are you originally from? I was born in Nashville, but growing up in a military family gave me an opportunity to live many places.

What do you do for fun? I love spending time with my two beautiful daughters. Ella and Ava, and my husband, John. Since Bungalow is such a new venture, a lot of our fun is spent at the shop.

Tell us about your family: I have two daughters, Ella and Ava, who are the sunshines of my life, my husband John, and Mini, the miniature Yorkie. My extended family includes Mom and Dad, my sister and brother-in-law in Chattanooga, and my sister and brother-in-law in Murfreesboro and the most precious 4-month-old nephew, Cole.

Who was your mentor? I would say my Mom and Dad are my mentors. They have always encouraged me to follow my dream. Our family motto has always been “If you can dream it and see it, you can do it.” With my Dad’s help and knowledge of antiques, I have grown up loving exactly what I am now so fortunate to be doing in my shop.

What is the most important thing going on now at your operation? We are ready for spring. New items include: antique furniture, garden accessories, stationery, oil paintings, gifts, metal ware, unique jewelry, mirrors, a new line of men’s gifts, and bath accessories.
