What does your company produce? We are a multi-specialty physician practice providing physician and similar health care services to the people of our community.
What is your basic business philosophy? First and foremost, I believe that we should take care of people in the same way that we want to be treated. I would add that too often now, a person’s word is no longer a bond. If we say we are going to do something, we should follow through and keep that commitment.
What is your proudest business achievement? It would have to be the successful completion and opening of our new building on Garrison Drive. It was a daunting process that took several years from start to completion.
What led you to Murfreesboro? I am one of the unusual people that actually was born and raised here.
What is your educational background? I have a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Middle Tennessee State University. I also became a certified public accountant in 1988.
Where are you originally from? I grew up in the Halls Hill community in eastern Rutherford County. Despite opportunities to move elsewhere, it is here that my wife and I want to live and raise our children.
What do you do for fun? I enjoy the outdoors, having recently added duck hunting to other similar activities.
I also enjoy the relaxation that comes from time spent on the farm. It is hard work that leaves you tired. However, it is a “good” tired.
Tell us about your family: My wife, Charlotte, and I have been married for more than 20 years. We have four children, Madilyn, Natalie, Zachary, and Carolyn. We live in Readyville.
Who was your mentor? I have had several mentors over my career. I look to my parents who provided me a strong educational start and moral foundation.
I also value the lessons, including a strong work ethic, learned from my father-in-law as I become more involved in raising beef cattle. Additionally, a partner in the CPA firm where I used to work provided me much guidance in my professional development.
