What does your company produce? MTMC provides a complete array of inpatient and outpatient healthcare services to the residents of Rutherford County and the surrounding region.
What is your basic business philosophy? Through the MTMC Foundation we promote community awareness of the quality and value of medical services provided by MTMC and we raise and manage philanthropic gifts made to enhance the hospital's healing ministry.
Give us a sales pitch in 25 words or less: Gifts made to the MTMC Foundation are an investment in the health care of our community, both for today and for generations to come.
What is your proudest business achievement? Raising $16 million for the construction of the Health First Hospice House in Palm Bay, Fla.
What led you to Murfreesboro? Murfreesboro is a vibrant and growing community with an outstanding hospital that's dedicated to its mission and focused on bringing the very best healthcare available to our community.
What is your educational background? Bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina
Where are you originally from? Greenville, S.C.
What do you do for fun? Hunt, fish and follow my kids around.
Tell us about your family: I'm married to Tonya Lea, of Albemarle, N.C., and have two children: Jake, 16, a junior at Riverdale High School; and Kassia, 10, a fifth grader at Christiana Elementary School.
Who was your mentor? Too many to name (and I might leave one out if I tried).
What is the most important thing going on now at your operation? The foundation is currently engaged in an effort to help raise funds in support of the new hospital.
